Jeonju University,a key university ranking in close proximity to 30 in Republicof Korea, was founded on January 9,1964 as Jeonju Youngsaeng College.On October 7, 1978 the college was renamed Jeonju College.In February 1981 it moved to present-day Hyoja-dong Campus.
